<image:title>Ritual & Offerings - "Seeding The New Era", Solstice Dark Light Group, June 21, 2020, Archipelago, SouthWest Finland</image:title>
<image:caption>14 souls gathered over Solstice by the sea in the Finnish Archipelago, with a hell yes to stand for love and support an initiation for humanity. Heralding in a new era that requires a group connection open to the unknown. Of the women who were there, almost all "happened" to be bleeding that weekend. Either their bleed came early or late or on time. It was amazing! There was a fire ban but we kept a small and powerful fire going in a ceremonial fire pit created for this occassion made of 24 stones of quartz and granite placed over polished rock which has been here since the last Ice Age. We all took turns attending to the fire throughout the 22 hour vigil. In the closing, we buried into the fire pit Earth friendly objects that hold our intention as humanity. To seed this energy for the new era, we made offerings of menstrual blood and semen all together as expressions of the most creative and powerful energy in matter we have as human beings to offer. No more seperation! We supported each other, we prayed, we celebrated. This new era is one where we reclaim the sacredness of matter, of this planet, of our bodies. It's about spirit landing in matter, for ourselves, with each other, for all! This blood and semen, each drop of it, IS Spirit in Matter! We recognize the potency and divinity in that. Rightfully, this mix blessed everything we journeyed through together over those 22 hours during the vigil, and the lifetimes and millenia as we have evolved through into the humanity we are ready to claim now. Over this time we were joined by over 100 fire keepers and groups across the globe on every continent, standing for the same simultaneously! Over a thousand people spent their solstice weekend this way, together alone, as one and as the many cells of the one, fueling the flame in their hearts and souls for a humanity that remembers itself as love, deeply knows the world as love, and is ready to fully LIVE! This is the world the union of our menstrual blood and semen are seeding! YES!!!</image:caption>

<image:title>Ritual & Offerings - "Dark Red Initiation", Marina Luna, 23, Poland, July 2020</image:title>
<image:caption>After a loooong 80 day cycle of deep initiation, transformation, death of many many things inside and outside, loss of connection to life and my body, total flatness, madness, frustration and collapse, pain, mess, complete overwhelm and exhaustion and the deep dive into my abyss. After deep lessons of softness, slowness, surrender, letting go, acceptance, shadow work, love and deep deep heart opening. After this long round in priestess phase I rec eived my blood again. In Poland, deeply indulged in the trees, the sounds of the birds, the fresh air, the stars, the beach, the salty waters, the moon, the sun, the bonfires and the mosquitos. I offered my blood to mumma ocean and dedicated my service to her wisdom and teachings. Bleeding freely at her shores. Finding my way back into the sweetness, wildness and connection with this colorful and lush life and mySelf. Thank you.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Whenever I bleed I make sure to dry some of it and I keep it in a jar together with some rose petals. When I travel I take this jar along so I can bless any land I walk upon. Blood is for me the most beautiful and potent elixir and I treat it with the utmost respect and humility. This week I offered it to the land that I hope to manifest home on. For my blood is the most precious offering I have.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ritual & Offerings - "I let my blood flow", Mona, 29, Sulzburg Germany</image:title>
<image:caption>I offer my blood. A gift to the Earth, to the flowing waters. I still remember the day when I first read about Blood Mysteries in Susun Weeds book "Healing Wise" - I was startled - and in awe at the same time: to bleed into the ground, in real or in fantasy. It felt so foreign and yet so exciting and liberating to me. My way of connecting to my body, my blood changed profoundly. Since then, I gift my blood to nature. Since then, I am in ritual. Every moon cycle becomes a manifestation of letting go and an honouring of being interwoven with life itself. This August New Moon, I offered my blood in a forest on the holy mountain of St. Odile. I did a shamanic drum journey in the night - I stepped into a circle of women, crows were feeding off bones in the middle. "Weave, weave, weave" the women said. "Share your wisdom, share your magic, weave a network. Weave."</image:caption>

<image:caption>Today I got the inspiration to activate my handmade shamanic drum with the most sacred I have- my blood, the pure fluid of my essence! I sat down in the grass, connected to pachamama all around me in gratitude and respect and I honored myself for being the powerful being that I am It felt so awesome to connect to my blood, my essence from deep inside and using my fingers to paint the drum ans I felt inspired in the moment. What a powerful way to connect to my inner wisdom and strength and a big step towards accepting myself as I am! ❤️ AHO!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Period underwear has taken a new shape. It no longer is the big old panties we don’t care if they get stained or not. Now they are comfortable underwear that eliminate the need to use a pad, a tampon or menstrual cup. Kind of “free bleeding” on the go. You can wear them during the day or night.</image:caption>

<image:title>Bleeding Time Resources - Menstrual Cup</image:title>
<image:caption>There are different names for this little cup, but they are all essentially the same. A vessel that collects your blood for up to 12h depending on your flow. They come in different colors and with different tips. You can find two sizes generally but they vary from brand to brand. This is considered a great option ecologically as it lasts for a long time and helps avoid single use options. It is also economical since one cup lasts up to 10 years.</image:caption>

<image:title>Bleeding Time Resources - Organic Cotton Tampons</image:title>
<image:caption>If you prefer tampons, organic cotton tampons are a great option. Normal pads and tampons are usually infused with chemicals and made out of plastic, not only making them toxic to our body but also detrimental to the environment. Tampons generally need to be changed more often than for instance the menstrual cup, because they are made of an absorbent material, and the menstrual cup simply collects the blood. Please follow the instructions provided by the product you’re using.</image:caption>

<image:title>Bleeding Time Resources - Cloth Pads</image:title>
<image:caption>Just like the menstrual cup, the cloth pad is a great option ecologically as they help avoid single-use pads. They are like a normal pad but they are made of cloth built in thin layers. The inside layers consist normally of a super absorbent fabric. The top layer usually is made out of cotton or a soft material and may have a fun pattern. The bottom layer may have an impermeable material. There are different sizes and levels of absorption. Choose accordingly to your flow. There are also workshops where you can make your own!</image:caption>

<image:title>Sacred Reciprocity - "Aloha ʻĀina", Celeste, 32, Hawaii</image:title>
<image:caption>Blood to me is like the embodied substance of life and death. It’s so surreal and at the same time the most natural thing in the world. Knowing this blood was meant to nurture new life. Knowing that somewhere in there is an unfertilized egg. Isn’t that simply beautiful? I give my blood back to Gaia every month with a little ritual to honor this sacred substance. This ritual was extra special to me, as I found myself back on the land where my soul started landing into my body some years before. This land and I we have a special bond. So giving her my blood as offering feels like loving all these parts of myself that started coming alive here for the first time. Aloha ʻĀina means ‘love of the land’ on native Hawaiian. For me this ritual is exactly that: Love of the interconnection of all things alive, all beings, all kingdoms - life as one great love affair and romance of everything and anything.</image:caption>

<image:title>Sacred Reciprocity - "The Portal", Sinead, 43, Ireland</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m writing this because I feel sad that I didn’t know about this 30 years ago and I want this to become normalised. For decades my blood went down the toilet, completely disregarded and misunderstood. Only in the last couple of years have I begun to understand the Sacredness of the blood, the cyclical nature of a woman’s life and the richer experience of life when we are connected to these things. Now, when I bleed, I create space to process and release t he previous cycle and afterwards I give the blood back to Gaia through a special portal I have created in my garden. I create a small ritual around it and it truly feels like a letting go of the past month and a step forward into the next cycle unencumbered and lighter. It also allows for a moment of connection with Mother Earth, where I get to thank her and give something precious back to her. I love that the blood nourishes this beautiful cherry tree and the fruit in turn nourishes me (or the birds, whoever gets there first!).</image:caption>

<image:title>Sacred Reciprocity - "Free Bleeding", Iva, 40, Germany</image:title>
<image:caption>Through advertising and media we get taught that menstruation needs to be "handled" with different hygienic products so the blood doesn't ruin our clothes, sheets and so on. How would it feel to not worry, to not use anything and just bleed freely? It's such a powerful and liberating experience to bleed freely in nature...where no one cares that you leave traces. Rather the opposite - menstruation blood is extremely natural and nourishing and nurtures the ground. Menstruation blood can be seen as something divine - just as nature. So bleeding in nature becomes a sacred act. Try it out, it's transformative and so so beautiful!</image:caption>

<image:caption>I really want to contribute my blood pictures. They were created February 2020. I was bleeding, alone in my house, and it was already dark outside. I took the opportunity to play with my blood all around the whole house, in front of the mirror, dancing in the living room, screaming, kissing, licking it from my hands. In these moments I feel like a true blood rebel, against all norms of how to behave, and I can just be as a bleeding human. Not shy , not hiding, not submissive, but strong, provocative and expressive. When I took this picture I saw such beauty. I was in awe of this blood. I celebrated all I have been going through this last cycle, and I saw such an empowered creature when looking into the mirror.</image:caption>

You came here to erupt like a volcano and tear apart all which is not true, pure and authentic.” Always remembering to start with myself first. My red tsunami is washing away the bullshit of this past cycle, drowning the stories and fears, projections and lies. Washing to the shores all the parts of me that have played small. Again. There’s no need to hide. There’s no point in pretending my life is anything else but the pure ecstatic manifestation of god’s will. An ever growing and never endingorg.smpulsing through me and as me. Blasting and burning away all that is not true, for what is true can never burn. Gimme that red thick juice. Bring it.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I never thought period blood was disgusting. Since I can remember I’ve always been very comfortable touching and making love to women, who are bleeding. For me it’s natural that the blood is there. Since I’ve been with my partner Celeste, I’ve started having more awareness about my relationship to blood. She celebrates her blood, creates rituals, drinks it. It’s more obvious to me now, how much shame there is in ‘normal’ culture around this topic. I find it so beautiful and touching to see women who honor the blood, make rituals, bleed freely, give it back to the land. It is since then that I feel inspired to also give my semen to the land. It helped me getting over some shame related to my own juices.</image:caption>

<image:title>Art Made With Sacred Blood - "I See", Agaya, Germany</image:title>
<image:caption>I know what the conscious work and play with the cycle and my blood changed, healed and empowered my life and I wish this to be basic education for ALL. This is also so beautiful and needed that we educate our brothers, fathers, partners, lovers, etc. My connection to and experience of the womb cycle changed totally in the last 6 years. Due to the disconnection with my feminine body up to my thirties caused by lot of unresolved trauma, I was experiencing extremely irregular and painful periods, hormonal imbalances, emotional rollercoasters and lack of energy/vitality. Luckily my womb called me back. She helped me through emotional and physical healing, through spirals and layers of deaths and rebirths, being truly a shamanic guide. She guided me to reconnect with my cycle and my blood, which brought healing and empowerment beyond my expectations. Before I had so much shame and even disgust around my blood, panic thoughts about possible spots on my trousers and so on. Now, when I have a blood spot in my bed or on my clothes it brings me in pure awe and gratitude for embodying such a divine mystery, it even makes me feel proud of being in a female body. Working consciously with my cycle and blood gave me enormous depth of understanding myself, my emotions, my very unique patterns and rhythms and even my soul purpose. Drinking my blood helped me to release shame and disgust not only around bleeding but also around sexuality. It deepened my authentic self love and reminded me about my original innocence.</image:caption>

<image:caption>There is an unlimited number of ways in which we can use our sacred waters to reconnect with ourselves, our wombs, our wildness and nature as our home. First of all, I highly encourage you to explore menstrual blood through the beautiful toolkit provided by your own body: the senses. Observe it, touch it, smell it, taste it. Listen to its messages of guidance. And then, honestly, few things are as magical as making art with menstrual blood. In a way, menstruation is our body's unfullfilled desire to birth a child, as it is composed by the endometrial tissue that was built to nourish that possible child. Incorporating menstrual blood into our processes of artistic expression is a way of honouring its life-giving, creational potential. It also supports the physical & emotional cleanse that happens during bleeding. It is an excellent way of letting go of emotions that have come up during the past cycle and works really well for transforming traumatic experiences. And last but not least, it is a special kind of coming back into a place of worshipping this sacred substance, as it allows us to contemplate the beauty contained in it with new eyes. Methods and techniques are as endless and unique as art itself. Menstrual blood can be painted or printed on a variety of materials, such as paper, fabric, wood, stone, clay... If you're as obsessed with tarot as I am, maybe try painting on fabric and sewing some bags for your favorite card decks. Or a little sachet to keep your stones and crystals in...</image:caption>

<image:title>Art Made With Sacred Blood - "My Inner Dragon", Raisa, 36, Finland</image:title>
<image:caption>Earlier yesterday I had asked what my intention is for this new moon, what is it that I'm pregnant with. So far I’ve meditated on that question on each new moon. This time meditating didn’t feel right. Usually I drink my menstrual blood and I was yearning for it yesterday, too. Nothing else really satisfies the cravings I get around my bleeding time. However, instead of drinking it, I felt the urge to just sit and be present for myself and release the emotions that were there, and then paint with my blood. I didn't know what I was painting until it was finished. My inner dragon received form for the first time, protecting the Earth with blazing fire. Through painting with my blood I found a new way to connect with my spirituality.</image:caption>

<image:title>Art Made With Sacred Blood - "Painting with sacred blood ", Maria, 41, Turku, Finland</image:title>
<image:caption>I was raised in a way that as a teenager I used to consider my periods as something shameful and secretive. Like that was something I needed to bare and to be ashamed of. I found out about the Sacred Blood through Taki'h and that was a huge relief and spiritual opening to me. Originally I didn't plan to make a ritual with blood or to paint with blood, but since there appeared to be many wishes that needed to be manifested for me and my friends, I spontaneously used the blood for ritual painting in my Full Moon in Leo ritual. Painting with blood completely let my creativity flow wild! Suddenly the menstrual blood and menstruation weren't only completely normal and acceptable, but also very creative, sacred and a powerful force of life. It is something to celebrate, not to hide! It helped me to feel the ancient connection to the divine feminine, Earth and all the other sisters.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This is the first time I paint, with my blood, I had plant it before but during this cycle I decided to use it all and to do not throw anything of my precious vitality down the toilet. Ohh I felt so much was coming into life by doing this painting, felt friends with my blood and it made so much sense to create something out of the substance made to hold life. I'll definitely will keep doing different projects with my precious menstrual blood.</image:caption>

<image:title>Art about Our Sacred Blood - "self portrait", Lila, 30, Israel</image:title>
<image:caption>I drew this self portrait on a sweet impulse, no agenda, no radical movement stoking the fire. A few weeks later when my bleeding came I reopened the sketchbook and painted it with the real raw pulsation of life- my blood. The simple act of smearing blood on the image of my Lila filled me with a rush of energy, a current moving through me like a wild wind. Reconnecting fragmented parts of myself, bringing the REAL into the 'image of'. The immense power of anointing - bringin the cells of my body, the DNA of my lineage, the liquid drops of my essence onto another being... whether it is still life or flesh - the beast in me growls and nods its giant head in approval for an act I know but never learned.</image:caption>

In the middle of quarantine I found myself diving deeper in profound connection with my sacred being, my womb, my yoni. During this meditation, 4am london time on the 5th this drawing came for me as we all tapped into this energy. The moon, goddess of our cycle, the blood being shed blooming the flowers, the lotus as the representative of the sacred feminine and the water. the sacred waters that move through all of us. Fertility.</image:caption>

<image:title>Art about Our Sacred Blood - "Nature", Mariana Moura, 22, King's Lynn, UK</image:title>
<image:caption>Although this was just finished being painted, these two fairies joined together a year ago camping, preparing a festival around love, community and coming together. They sat in the river and one tuned and asked to the other “would you mind if I took out my cup and released my blood here?” the other one laughed her eyes out and said “go ahead i just peed next to you” and they both laughed. as both fluids are the most natural thing coming out of humans bodies, both being delivered to nature and washed away by it. love, sisterhood, oneness, laughter is what filled their hearts as they kept going about their day, in this mystical land in the middle of northern Portugal. Held and cleansed by the Sousa river.</image:caption>
